"Love me two times, I'm goin' away..."

Today marks two major anniversaries in world history and pop culture.

Had he not died in 1971, singer Jim Morrison of The Doors would have been 63 today.

And it was 26 years ago today that former Beatle and peace proponent John Lennon was shot and killed by a crazed fan in NYC.

I'm sure there are many more important things that happened this day in history. But for me, these 2 stand out as events that changed the course of the world (granted, both in their own way).

I urge everyone to take a moment today to listen to some tunes from The Doors, The Beatles and/or John Lennon and reflect on the world around you. Think about life, love, peace and forgiveness. Maybe if we all can spend a few minutes today doing this, the positive vibes will reach the world.

And yes, I know - I, like John, am a dreamer. But I'm not not the only one...

"Time is much too short to be living somebody else's life..."

Today is World AIDS Day, and I just wanted to take a minute with you to show my support of everyone around the world dealing with this disease.

Please visit the site I've linked to below for facts and information about HIV and AIDS.

And remember that times like these we want to remember "people living with..., not dying from, disease" (from Rent's "La Vie Boheme"). Show your support for this and countless other worthy causes.

We're one world, and we are all in this together.

Support World AIDS Day
